About Global Friends
Global Friends is a part of the Student Union, "Medicinska Föreningen", at Karolinska Institutet (KI). We are a group of students studying on different programs at KI who enjoy the possibility of meeting new people and getting new friends from around the world. The purpose of Global Friends is to give you an opportunity to meet both Swedish students and other exchange students. Also, we hope to be able to provide you some help with questions that might arise during your stay here.
We receive lists of incoming exchange students from the International student coordinators and send out the information to our members in order trying to find a contact persons for those exchange students who have requested such. The contact person should meet you upon your arrival and guide you to your accommodation. He/She might also pick up keys to the room. However, since we do this on a volunteer basis, we can never guarantee that we will find a contact person although we always do our best trying to make your arrival here as smooth as possible.
We are sponsored by KI, which also enables us to arrange some activities during the semesters.
